Topics

Although topics directly related to the ASM theme are preferred, abstracts relating to or dealing with toxicology and/or risk assessment are most welcome.

Major themes of the scientific program include:

  • State of the science regarding chemical-induced carcinogenesis
  • Managing risks of exposure to carcinogenic chemicals in the workplace
  • Carcinogenicity classification schemes: IARC Explained - cancer classification system and monographs
  • IARC assessments and how regulators use classification schemes to set regulatory guidelines and standards in Australia
  • Tomorrow’s carcinogenicity classification schemes
  • Integrated approach to testing and assessing non-genotoxic carcinogens
  • Integrating computational tools (i.e. ExpoCast) into carcinogenicity assessments
  • The USEPA and EFSA systems for evaluating carcinogenicity of pesticides
  • Review of the carcinogenic potential of important environmental contaminants
  • Approaches for quantitative assessment of skin cancer risk from soil contamination

Application Instructions

Your abstract submission to the 15th ASM can be up to one A4 page in length, no more than 300 words and needs to clearly state the objectives and content of your proposed contribution. It may include figures, tables, diagrams and illustrations but not photos and the file size cannot be more than 2MB.

The abstract can address any topic relevant to the interests of ACTRA peers, and it need not be consistent with the overall theme of the ASM. You can elect to make an oral or poster presentation.
